The Manta Tourism Bureau Foundation had an outstanding participation in the International Tourism Fair ( FITUR 2025 ), held in Madrid, Spain, during this month of January. In a joint effort with the Municipality of Manta and the Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí (ULEAM), our city was presented to the world at the official Ecuadorian stand, highlighting its tourism potential, its infrastructure and its unparalleled gastronomic offer.
Manta: A booming destination
FITUR is one of the most important tourism fairs in the world, bringing together professionals from the sector, tour operators, investors and media from all over the world. Manta's presence at this event was a strategic step to strengthen its international positioning as an ideal destination for beach, business and convention tourism.
The Manta Tourism Bureau Foundation has been a key player in this initiative, promoting the city in international markets and generating opportunities to attract visitors and investments. Exhibition of Manabita Gastronomy at FITUR 2025
One of the highlights of Manta's participation in FITUR 2025 was the exhibition of its exquisite gastronomy. The Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí (ULEAM) carried out live demonstrations of various representative dishes of Manabí gastronomy, highlighting the authentic flavors of the region. This initiative not only allowed attendees to taste the culinary richness of Manabí, but also served to publicize the recent declaration of the province as a World Region of Gastronomy for 2026.
For its part, in an alliance between the Manta Tourism Bureau Foundation and the Manta Municipal Government, daily preparations and tastings of emblematic dishes of Manabita gastronomy were carried out, which were highly appreciated by those attending the fair. This joint effort raised the profile of our city's gastronomic offering and contributed to strengthening its position as a first-class culinary destination.

During the fair, the Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí (ULEAM) played a key role in highlighting the city's benefits, its culture and its gastronomy.
